POLICIES

for Sequim Ballet

Attendance Policy

The dancer is required to be at every class, unless they have a fever or the flu. An injury will not disqualify you from being in class and watching. A dentist appointment is not a reason to miss a ballet class. Please make appointments of this nature on non-ballet days. If you do miss class, you are required to make it up within 2 days.

Rehearsals will be set in advance and the dancer is responsible for getting to every single rehearsal. Accepting a part in a performance means that you are prepared to not let anything else get in the way of you making it to each and every rehearsal. If you cannot do this, please decline the role.
I expect everyone to arrive at least 15 minutes before your class begins. Walking in 5 minutes before class is unacceptable and rude. You must be dressed and ready to start each class on time.

Uniform and Hair Policy

All classes below the advanced class have a set class uniform. Lavender leotard, pink tights and pink shoes for girls. White t-shirt, black or grey tights, and black or white shoes for boys. Sheer dance skirts are allowed for girls. When the weather is cold, dance sweaters and thick tights are fine. Any loose clothing that impedes me from seeing a leotard will have to be removed.

If you have pre-points or pointe shoes, you must also have a pair of flats to dance in.

Your hair must be up….not in a braid or a pony tail, rather a bun or the equivalent. It must be secure with a hair tie, hair net and bobby pins.

Payment

Payment is due at the beginning of each month in cash or check, please let me know if you are going to be late with your payment.  Make checks payable to Laurel Herrera. It is expected to pay full payment of every month, no matter how many classes were missed in the month.

Performance Opportunities

Due to COVID,  performance season is a little different. Outside venues preferred.
